The Butterfly Story

Hello and Welcome! My name is Rebecca Arscott and I am the owner and designer of The Yellow Butterfly Jewelry Boutique.

I am beyond thrilled that you decided to stop by and take a look around our shop. The Yellow Butterfly is a locally owned small business, based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I design and craft beautiful chandelier and statement earrings.  

I am a mom of two sweet littles and I am a singer/songwriter, podcast host and jewelry LOVER! If there is any accessory that I love the most its earrings. Big, dangly, chandelier earrings! It became rather an obsession of mine since I was a little girl.

 I remember my mother wearing such beautiful jewelry and I always loved her long earrings and I wanted my own pair, but my ears were not pierced, so my mother made me a pair of my very own! I will never forget them! They were clip on clear, diamond shaped chandelier earrings. They were big, long, and sparkly and of course everything I ever wanted! I wore those earrings every single day and I would do the “earring flip” (like a hair flip but better and much more sparkly). I wore them everywhere and I was so proud. Ever since then, all I have ever owned were big chandelier earrings. 

 I make every single earring set that I sell by hand! I absolutely have fallen in love with jewelry making. I fully believe in doing what you love to do and always pursuing your dreams!

The story behind the name

The butterfly specifically, yellow butterflies, have always been symbolic to me that God was showing me that I was on the right track when it came to pursuing my dreams. Every time that I would doubt myself or when I was on the brink of giving up, a yellow butterfly would fly by even in off season. The butterflies were always yellow. Its more than just a beautiful creature, it has become the sign to never give up and a reminder that I am on the right path and that has brought peace and joy even during life’s storms!
